London calling, yes, I was there, too. And you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!

Taking the EuroStar from Brussels to St Pancras station in London was quite a thrill, considering that I work for Bechtel, and we managed the successful completion of the Channel Tunnel or Chunnel in 1994.

After we arrived in London, we continued our journey…

Stonehenge

We were working to see if we might do some time travel through the stones at Stonehenge. And, the place is a World Heritage site.

Bath

I had been to Bath last year for a FIRST Robotics competition at the University of Bath. The city is a great place to visit and another World Heritage Site.

Windsor

We visited Windsor right after the royal wedding and went into St. George’s Chapel; however, we weren’t allowed to take any photos. We saw where everyone that’s anyone sat during the wedding – up close and personal – and also where Henry VIII and Jane Seymour were buried.

London

London is always fun to visit because you can count on great shopping, theatre, and tea. We saw “Strictly Ballroom” at the Piccadilly Theatre after our afternoon tea at the Savoy. We had a great dinner at this cool restaurant called Sketch. Check it out if you’re ever in London, especially the pod washrooms. They’re quite an experience.

We hit all the best high-end shopping at Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Liberty of London, and we couldn’t miss all the great antique finds at the Portobello Market. I picked up some very small English teaspoons and a silver sugar tong.

But alas, all good things must come to an end, and it was back to the States for me. But this vacation was an excellent opportunity to check-off many places and attractions on my bucket list.

XOXO

  1. Hi Amy, Am enjoying reliving your trip thru your web site! You three obviously had a fabulous time. Please help this electronically challenged grandma turn on the music—I can’t figure it out. Hugs, Sharon

    1. Thanks so much for your feedback! You turn on the music by clicking on the link after each quote. It will take you to YouTube. This music was a bit punk but the title was what inspired me….you will then need to flip back over to the post to continue reading. Or you can read the entire post and then listen to the music. But you only need to click on the link of the title and artist under each quote.
